If you've never seen Anne Hubner on the water, you may feel a bit surprised when you do! First of all, she's a very solid river runner, winning the last three european TEVA games in Italy, but the greatest asset about her is that she is always comes accessorized with a big, beautiful smile!

RA: When did you start paddling? And who/what influenced you to start?
Anne: I started kayaking in my mums belly. So, I've paddled my entire life and cannot imagine life without kayaking.

RA: What is your favorite river? Why?
Anne: Verzasca (CH), because of its' steepness, power, water color . . . and, it's located in a very nice valley. You need to go there . . . then you'd see why!

RA: Where are you located and kayaking these days?
Anne: At the moment, it's a little playspot called "Steindamm", close to Frankfurt. But, after my studies it changes to somewhere in between or closer to the mountains - maybe Switzerland, Austria or Bavaria.

RA: What are some hobbies/work you do outside of kayaking?
Anne: At the moment, I am working on my thesis in analytical chemistry, and it is my #1 goal to finish this degree in the next few months.

RA: What do you like most about kayaking?
Anne: It never gets boring. You will always make new experiences . . . being out in nature! You can sometimes reach places which no other paddler/person has ever been. But, the most important thing about kayaking, to me, is it's FUN!

RA: Do you have a favorite kind of kayaking style?
Anne: At the moment, creeking is absolutely my favorite type of paddling. Nevertheless, paddling slalom in the past was very useful to learn the basic techniques, and freestyle gives me more safety for my roll. Another comfortable aspect of freestyle is that you can chill the entire day, at just one spot, without having to run a shuttle.

RA: What do you like about the kayaking background (lifestyle, travel, club spirit) . . . ? Anne: Traveling with friends, nature and the lifestyle.

RA: If you could choose anywhere in the world to paddle, where would you go?
Anne: First Norway . . . then, Chile!

Thanks, Anne for sharing your amazing life and passion with us.  We thank you for doing what you do and making having fun the most important aspect of your paddling.
