Crosstraining Fun!

After three years of kayaking pretty much non-stop all over the world, it was time to slow down and take a step back this winter. I thought skiing and working in one of the busiest skitowns in Norway would be a good way of doing it..  I have spent a fair amount of time in the slopes, and also outside the slopes, though the snow hasnt been fantastic yet. But what is fantastic, is that in Norway, every little town has a crosscountrytrack that gets lit up at night, usually a five kilometer track. And in Hemsedal, where I work, you also have the mountains right next to you, with marked tracks which are fantastic to ski on in daylight.

I would usually come home from work around six, eat some food, load up the dogs and head out to do the five kilometer track as fast as possible. The track I usually ski is quite steep in places too, so with a german shepard that loves to pull me, it is almost like extremesport sometimes in the downhills, and yes, there have been some spectacular crashes as well..

Nevada after a cold one..

However, tomorrow I take a break from my break, heading to Chile for three weeks to visit the mighty waters of the Futaleufu together with my man..

Summer, here I come!
