The Everest Awards are known as the ‘Oscars of the Outdoor Industry,’
and are presented to the male and female adventure sports athletes with
the most outstanding achievements and accomplishments in the past year.
This place is Nirvana…World Class kayaking, climbing, rafting, and
mountain biking…. the list goes on…. and every night there is live
music playing at the various raft companies (not that I go out that
much for those that do there is a night life).
High water means good waves... Sweet!
Last Summer I was diagnosed with cancer during what was supposed to be a month long kayaking expedition in Honduras. I was shocked when the doctors told me
I had stage 3c colon cancer at 26 years old. It was truly a gift that
kayaking was in my life when I was faced with this illness.
